One 195 carats stepped antique cushion opal from Welo Ethiopia, VS1 clarity, cut grade very good, measuring 37 mm wide, 44 mm long, 32 mm deep; with very good polish and excellent symmetry. Cut by Steve Moriarty. **This opal is non-hydrophane therefore this opal from this particular source must be kept wet or the surface will craze with shallow surface cracks. This opal can be dry for short periods ( 1 hour maybe more) with minimal risk. We have had them hold up for months but they finally crazed .
